We’re delighted to announce the birth of our fourth son (name hasn’t quite been decided on yet, stay tuned) on February 9 at 8:38am at our home. He weighed 10 lbs. 1 oz. at birth, and was 21.5″ long; a huge baby boy!
Ariel’s doing awesome and recovering quite nicely. The brothers are all delighted, as are we. He’s doing great, eating better than the rest of the brothers did (he’s gotta maintain that weight somehow).
Will be posting more photos and videos soon…
My second oldest, Ronan, turned six last week. As part of the celebrations, I woke him up early and took him out to breakfast, just him and I.
In this town, if you want to get food instead of just edible substances early in the morning, you go to one of the local mom-and-pop restaurants which open early. The menus cater to the local tastes, which can sometimes be eclectic. Apparently, pork brains and eggs is a local delicacy. I decided to have a bit of fun with Ronan, who’s just learning to read.
“Hey, Ronan, read what this says,” I bait him.
One of my boys’ favorite things is getting to one of the beautiful creeks and rivers around where we live, and looking for critters.
“Dad, can we go crawdad hunting?”
“Sure.”
And off they’ll go with the bucket and their nets, imprisoning little innocent creatures for sport. It is such a delight to see the wonder on a child’s face when they’re immersed in God’s creation.
This is Morgon, my eldest, with a small “friend,” who got stuck in the bucket.
(Tristan let him go when Morgon wasn’t looking.)
